Dubai to Lagos

About This Project

January 2017 saw AGF Shipping handle a large shipment of Oilwell Equipment from Dubai, UAE to Lagos, Nigeria. The shipment involved some 18 machines to be co-ordinated, collected and shipped.

Due to the nature and size of this shipment one of our Project Specialists flew to Dubai to oversee the movement of the cargo. The complex nature of the cargo made this an interesting movement as did the road restrictions in Dubai.

With our usual zeal AGF Shipping Ltd not only arrange the collection of the cargo and sea freight to Lagos but also handled the surveying for M Certificate, Soncat Certificates and the export customs formalities plus the repacking of some damaged cases.

The shipment consited of several 50mt pieces, 32mt cases and 28mt cases plus sundry items and parts. The load site also presented several issues, the main ones being the restricted space available to work in and the condition of the wooden cases. However with the help of the load site and the professional co-ordination of all the relevant suppliers this shipment was repacked and moved smoothly. Our Julian Chambers then spent 14 hours on the vessel ensuring the cargo was loaded correctly and secured for sea freight to Lagos Port. A complex and time consuming operation but worth the time taken.
