In April 2014 we moved a full ROV system for a well know energy company from the UK to the USA.
The shipment comprised 2 Remote Operated Subsea Vehicles, their Spare Parts, Control Cabins and Repair Workshops, totalling 4 x 40’ Flat Rack Containers (OOG), 2 x 20’ Open Top Containers (OH) and 2 x 20’ General Purpose Dry Van Containers.
The client has requested BreakBulk shipment from the UK to Houston Port, USA, however, after viewing the cargo we suggested that containers would be a better option. We gave the client the prices and service details for both BreakBulk and Containerised options and let them decide which suited them best. The client decided the slightly higher rate but more frequent and faster direct transit of the containerised option would be most suitable for them on this occasion.
As per AGF Shipping Ltd’s standard practice, the cargo was collected and inspected for shipment prior to being loaded to the containers. This also serves the purpose of seeing if the cargo can be loaded in a more economical and cost saving way.
The cargo was successfully loaded at our Felixstowe Port facility and the containers presented to the vessel for shipment. AGF Shipping dealt with all the customs paperwork, AMS and shipment documentation for the client, ensuring a one stop process.
The containers were loaded to the vessel and departed on time with a safisfied client happy with the efforts involved.
